Prof. Dr. Vita Maciulskiene Appointed Section Editor-in-Chief of Section “Dentistry” in Medicina

We are pleased to announce that Prof. Dr. Vita Maciulskiene has been appointed Section Editor-in-Chief of the “Dentistry” Section in Medicina (ISSN: 1648-9144). With her extensive background in scientific research and publishing, she will bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise to this prestigious role.

The following is a short Q&A with Prof. Dr. Vita Maciulskiene, who shared her vision for the journal with us, as well as her views on the research area:

1. What appealed to you about the journal that made you want to become its Section Editor-in-Chief?
Medicina is an international, peer-reviewed, open access journal that covers all problems related to medicine. In the past, I benefited significantly from Medicina as an author and reviewer. With the role of Section Editor-in-Chief, I am ho** to have the opportunity to invite new scholars to join the Editorial Board, increase the number of submissions and Special Issues, and more effectively contribute to the scientific community.

2. What are your plans and vision for the Section and the journal?
With the recent advances in biotechnology and biomedicine, biomedical knowledge about multiple aspects of dental diagnosis and treatment is also growing rapidly. My vision is that the “Dentistry” Section will provide more high-quality contributions to the scientific community in the fields of oral health, oral pathology, oral regeneration, oral rehabilitation, and translational medicine. I will also promote Medicina on social media and at conferences, foster collaborations and accelerate the dissemination of science around the world, and expand international connections among experts in the field.

3. What does the future of this field of research look like?
Modern dental scientific methods should further study dental pathologies at the cellular or subcellular level, link dental stem cell and biomimetic scaffold technology with the development of the modern concept of regenerative dentistry, and continue to study the role of regenerative dentistry in the treatment of shallow dentin defects, bone substitutes, remineralization of the tooth surface, and biofilm destruction.

We warmly welcome Prof. Dr. Vita Maciulskiene as the new Section Editor-in-Chief and we look forward to her leading Medicina to achieve many more milestones.
